As soon as the summer vacations commenced, we started thinking about going on vacations. This year, we decided to visit Accra. This destination is the largest city and capital of Ghana. It was an incredible experience to visit this place. This city reflects the rich past of the country. Loads of tourist attractions were available in the city, and we had a lovely time.
After we had decided the destination to be visited, we started preparations for our visit. We decided to buy airlines ticket to this destination well in advance. We searched all leading flights to Accra. Since, this city is a popular tourist place; the number of footfalls in the city is increasing with leaps and bounds.
Our main aim was to visit the place within the budget decided by us. So we searched for some cheap flights to Accra. Many flights provide cheap tickets, but most of them provide the bare minimum facilities. Finally, I came know about British Airways, offering cheap tickets to Accra with all the basic facilities. Finally, the day arrived when we reached our destination.
Golden tulip Accra is the name of the hotel where we stay during our trip. The staff of this hotel greeted us by saying “Akwaaba” that means “you are warmly welcome”. This is an African themed hotel situated at only 5 minutes drive from Kotoka International Airport. That day we stay at the hotel only. The very next day we started sightseeing.
This city is sprawled along the Atlantic beach. The beaches are magnificent and pristine. This is the best place to relax and enjoy life. The destination boasts of some monumental buildings, libraries, gallery, traditional market and lively nightlife. All these attractions add character to the place making it even more beautiful, and travelers love to visit this city again and again. Accra is Ghana’s most populous city with many a vast coastline. The rich culture and the history of the country are reflected in the museums dotting the landscape.
We visited OSU castle, the national art center; Independence squares and many other places. These are some popular places of Accra. OSU castle is the seat of Government and famous among all. Permanent Garrison, shopping center, clinic, post box and café, all are situated in OSU castle. National museum is another famous place of Accra where we visit during this trip. Here, we see a short movie which exhibits the culture and tradition of Ghana.
Next day we visited Aburi Botanical Garden. It is located in Akwapim Ridge, only 35 km away from Accra. Thousands of travelers visit that place in a day. In the entire trip, this was the best place to visit. One can find a number of exotic flowers in this garden. Accra is known as botanical reserve due to this garden.
