National Maritime Museum
Converted into a heritage site, this 19th century fort now houses the National Maritime Museum. This museum displays the naval and military memorabilia of the British at the Royal Naval Dockyard in Sandy’s Parish.

Spittal Pond Natural Reserve

Spittal Pond reserve in Smith’s Parish is an ornithologist’s delight. This 64 acre premium natural reserve is the best location for bird watching on the island.

Adventure activities at Bermuda
For swimming, the ideal places are Shelly Bay, Tobacco Bay and Jobson’s Cove with their shallow waters. Snorkel Park in Dockyard or Church Bay was the best to try snorkeling. Paradise Lake beckoned to me for kayaking.  Water-skiing, jet-skiing, parasailing, kite-surfing, wind-surfing, scuba diving, fishing, whale –watching and swimming with the dolphins are other idyllic pastimes.

Try going on chartered cruises or boat tours to Castle harbor and the smaller islands. Sailing below the world’s smallest drawbridge called Somerset Bridge is a truly memorable experience.

Sailing and yachting are other pleasurable adventures to enjoy at Bermuda along with playing golf at its lush courses.

Shopping in Bermuda

Bermuda’s capital Hamilton has a bevy of shops along Front Street facing the harbor. Try shopping also at St. George or the Dockyard.
